Any ideas?

I received a call for help in an email from someone who visited my blog.  She writes:

My husband has a knit christmas stocking.  His whole family has one.  Our daughter has one.  You get the point.  But our 9 month old son does not.  The lady who used to make them passed away 3 months ago.  Our local knitting shops are of no help.  I am trying to find a knitter who can recreate a stocking from a sample.  I live in California and NEED SOME HELP!  Any ideas?

Amy

So.... do we have any advice for Amy?  Do any of you think you can reverse engineer a Christmas stocking?  I doubt that I have that skill yet....but I am sure that someone out there can do it!  Let me know and I can put you in touch with Amy the Stocking Searcher.  :)

Are all the stockings the same? Just with a different name? I have no clue how to go about redoing a stocking, maybe by counting stitches and graphing out the pattern. If each stocking is unique, there's a Xmas stocking book (can't off the top of my head think of the name, but I've seen it in Barnes & Noble) that she can pick up and make a new one/pay someone to make for her. Other than this, I'm out of ideas. :)

Your sister visited my blog and said our puppies look like long lost twins. I was hoping to catch a glimpse.
