Media Day at Stitch

Thanks for coming to my press conference.... One at a time, please... I know we have a lot to cover today... Let's get started!

Yes - you over there to the right - in the Kitty hat .

Is there any truth to the rumors that are going around? A lot of folks are saying you've finished knitting all the pieces of that Ribby Cardi you're working on but you've been too lazy to post any pictures on your blog. Are you lazy? And finished? Meow.

Okay Okay, YES. It's true. While I am a dilligent knitter, I am a very lazy blogger.

the crowd draws a collective gasp

But let's try to put that behind us, shall we? I am ready to disclose all information regarding my lovely (Yee!) Ribby Cardi....  Let's take a look, shall we?

Next I will be blocking the pieces...then seaming... then knitting the band....then more seaming... then the collar.... and then installing a zipper. On the topic of zippers, I'd like to make a formal plea for anyone that has any information on where the heck I can find a good looking 2-way zipper to please come forward..... The cardi's very appearance depends on it!

Let's see.... Next from the Peanut Gallery....Yes, you with the big head.... Go ahead Big Head.

ahem.. Yes... Inquiring minds want to know - whatever happened to Skully? Do I really have a big head?

Big? That's a watermelon growin' outta yer neck, bud. Skully - oh sweet dear Skully...... Skully is so close to being compelete that it's quite disgusting.... I have not forsaken him though! I have spent the last month or so looking all over for one skein of Lamb's Pride Bulky in Deep Charcoal to finish the 2 inches of the sleeve that need to be knit. And I haven't had any luck. I won't get into the scummy details, friends - let's just say my heart was broken and my hopes dashed more than a few times these past few weeks. And while it pains my cheap little soul to do the unthinkable.... I had no choice. I couldn't find it anywhere... I mean anywhere! I had to resort to.... buying in bulk on eBay. AAAAAAAH. $22 I just spent on one POUND of this yarn! When I only needed a little bit..... it's painful I tell you. But I am not ashamed, people! What else was I to do? The sweater will be finished. The Bune will look faboo in said sweater. And all will be right in the world. So, I have a little extra yarn... so what? I can come up with something to make out of it..... right? sigh.

Anybody else? Yes ok - you over there in the corner - the girl waving her hands frantically and moving aound like a loony bird - what's your question?

Where's the bathroom?!?!

Cram it with walnuts, Ugly. Only knitting related questions today. Some people.... Okay, I'll take one more - how about you? Yep - in the black rimmed glasses eating a bowla noodles - whaddya got?

Who, me? Ramen noodles, dingbat - what's it look like I got?

Do you have a question......

OH. Right. Ummm somebody somewhere - I'm sure - wants to know what you've got coming up in the future. Any plans? Geez that's a fluff question.... what am I doing here?

I do have some plans - thank you for asking! A lovely knitter from the Coffeeshop is sending me a copy of the Charlotte's Web pattern. Really sweet actually - Sylviatx had been interested in the book I had up for swap, but I had already promised it away. I offered a trade for the pattern but she is sending it to me out of the good ness of her heart! I seriously heart knitting karma! And Sylvia just racked up a whole bunch!! What a great knitting commmunity we have here on the good ol' interweb. Seriously! So now my six skeind of luscious koigu will finally have a sense of usefulness. The poor things.

Beyond that, I have some really nice hand dyed chennille I am thinking of knitting into a Boobholder  and I have been eyeing the Clover Leaf Sweater from SnB Nation but I'm not ready to make a firm committments yet - don't hold me to that.

Okay that's all for now. Thanks for coming out. Until next time.....

Back Home.

Well.  Im back in good ol' chilly Connecticut with my very attentive pup, 2 cats who didn't even realize I was gone and a Bune who wouldn't let me take a shower when I arrived home because he just wanted to be in the same room as me for as long as possible.  :)  It's nice to be missed.

Florida was.....interesting.  Let's just say I am relieved to be home and happy to get back to my routine.  Sometimes family can be just plain stressful.  But, if anything good came out of a very hard few days, I think I realized some of the things that have kept me from having an actual relationship with either of my parents.... there are some conversations that need to be had.  But not for a while - because I need a break.  :)

In other news, there is a happy new addition to our little fam here at StitchStitchland.  He is small, kinda fragile, he's got one big eye and is a bit of a peeping tom.  Here he is!  Oooh baby.  Welcome to the family, DigiCam!

I think he needs a proper name, but haven't been struck with inspiration yet...  Any ideas?  He's definitely a he... And I'm feelin something saucy... like Mortimer... Edgar... Percival.... But I can't quite put my finger on it....

So, yes, I DO have shiny new pictures for the blog, but I am in the process of re-establishing my home pc's connection to the interweb.  I finished my first pair of socks and am DYING to get pictures up of them....  Soon, I hope!

Also, I have finished the sleeves on my Ribby Cardi and am close to finishing the back!  Yay!  I'll have some update pics of that as well.

So.. I am happy to be home - Let it SNOW!!!!   ;)

Meet Joda McBoob and Her Fabulous Boob Covers

So my buddy Joda finally sent me pics of her modelling the limey green stripey bikini top I knit for her!  Check out her Uma-Thurman-look-alike self gettin down and dirty - in the nicest sense of the phrase!

Disclaimer:  Joda McBoob is not a floozy looking for sexy attention via the interweb.  She is just a girl with faboo boob covers.

On to les fotos!

Jodamcboob

Here is the lovely dame rockin it old school.  I hope you're wearing pants, Joda McBoob!

Bikini

And a close up of one of the bikini triangles - I LOVE the way the colors look together with those stripes... SO 1973!

A big thanks to Joda McBoob for gettin these pics to me...  I've been braggin about this forever with no proof of it's existence!
