A Stash-Busting Scissor Swap

So the Hat City Scissor Squad had our first official Scissor Swap Tuesday evening at Michelle's house.  What a freakin' blast!!!!  We had snacks,WINE, and tons and tons of craft supllies and books spread over a few tables.....

This was a super opportunity to clean out my stash!!!  I brought a ton of fabric and all the yarn that I knew I wasn't going to dedicate to a project.  Anne brought a huge bag of cotton chenille that we all quickly ate up, and another bag full of beautiful yarns and fabrics!  She was the stash-busting queen, hands down - as she departed Michelle's that night with just a shoe box full of her finds....  The rest of us .... did not show that kind of restraint.  :)

Here we are in action....

And here's what I came home with....

3 balls of Plymouth Kick (SOOOO FUZZY! Sure to be a comfy hat....), a skein of hot pink fuzzy acrylic (I am such a sucker), some pretty faery colored Red Heart (why not?), my share of the cotton chenille (legwarmers, here I come!) and a couple pieces of fabric for some summer tops....  And some beeswax and flavor oils.... And a suncatcher kit..... Okay - it sounds like a lot, but I came to the house with waaaay more!  I was a good girl fer sure.  Went with 2 big shopping bags - came home with one!  *Sarah beams with pride.*

We had a blast doing this - and have decided we must have a stash-busting Scissor Swap twice a year!  End of Winter... End of Summer....  I have a feeling we'll have more folks at the next one too - once we rave about this to everyone, we will have a mob next time...

More tomorrow on our guest of honor...  :)

Damn! That sounds like a fun night! We had a swap at our last knitting Meetup, but I came home with about the same amount of stuff, just different types. That's not the point, now is it? haha... Congrats on your restraint.
