Can you believe this sh*t...

So, just when you think the worst is over...

On Sunday, my cat Nog (who Mary and Scott very graciously offered to live with at the old place so she could continue chomping on mice and terrifying the avian population) was hit by a car and died.

I honestly just don't have it in me to really write about how I feel right now. Sufficed to say, I was there when she was born, I was there when she first came out of her kitten den to greet the world on wobbly legs, I was there when she ventured outside for the first time and caught a big fat fly within moments, I watched her grow into one of the most beautiful cats I've ever known and I'm just about toast at this point.

I just wanted to put a little note up here so you all know why I am a little behind on answering emails and/or using my higher brain function.

I'm just done.

Let's try this again.

Shall we?

Life, it seems, has been taken over by work. Work, it seems, sucks the life straight out of me.

I've recently made some observations that deserve immediate attention. I mean, STAT, people.

Let's go to the list.

1. While I do actually like my job, I realize that I do not like having two managers. One that I do all of my work for and another who is in charge of how much money I make, etc. Nope. I don't like it.

2. I do not make enough money to live by myself in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

3. With nothing/no one tying me down in this state, I cannot come up with more than two reasons to stay (#1 - Mary, #2 - knitting with my bitches)

4. I was once hailed as an adventurer. I haven't gone anywhere of significance in 7 years.

5. Realizing #4 made me cry.

6. Besides the Scissor Squad, I meet no one my age. I therefore feel surrounded by people who are often times 20 years my senior. (They are nice - don't get me wrong! But I miss my old social scene.)

7. I am having little bouts of depression.

So, here's the deal. Does it not seem that items #1-7 all seem to be somewhat related? Yeah, I think so too. I am lethargic and bored and just kind of sad. I'm not miserable, mind you - but I'm sure as Hell not happy. And I remember being happy.... I remember liking it.

So, Sarah's life is in the beginning stages of a rebuilding phase. I think that we are most likely looking at a move at the end of the summer. Where to is a big mystery.

But, I'll tell ya... just the idea of picking up and moving got my blood pumping.... When I get past the practical fears of moving costs, finding a job, blah blah blah... I am left with the idea of moving somewhere new and it just seems like a pretty neat idea.

Note to the Squadders:
I promise to post the pictures from last weekend's swap within the next day or two!

A Tale of Sheep & Wool, As told by Zhaan the Cameraphone

So, Mary, Michelle and I headed up to Tolland to meet Jessica and her hubby and spend the day at the CT Sheep & Wool Festival. Little Zhaan captured it all, so I'll turn it over to her.

The girls saw a lot of sheep.

alpaca.jpg

The girls saw some noisy alpacas.

Bunnies.jpg

The girls saw some bunnies and Sarah squealed and giggled like an asshole when she saw all the bunnies.

M&M.jpg

The girls watched border collies chase the stupid sheep. Here Mary and Michelle are mesmerized. (And Mary is laughing because even the shepard can't get his well trained dog can't get the little bugger to lay down on command when he's all riled up. They said this means Gracie's not so bad after all.)

MlovesOx.jpg

But above all these cute creatures, the girls seemed really enthralled with the oxen.
(I'm so jealous. Jessica's cameraphone caught the full photo here. This ox is actually taking a giant OX SIZED piss while Mary is making kissy faces with it. Yeah. Earth to Sarah! Can't you do anything right? Can't you even capture a proper photo of an ox PISSING on your little sister while she smiles all goofy about it????? Jesus.)

OxCartRide.jpg

Some of the girls even shoved small children out of the way to get onto this cart and be pulled around the fair by the oxen. It was quite the scene.

Sarah did not partake in said cart ride. So Jess's cameraphone was ordered to send me this picture to show Sarah. The caption read:

What you missed.

Wow. Sarah really screwed up by not hopping on the Oxen Ass Trolley. But, there's always next time.
