Spiffing Up The Joint
I've decided to redecorate a bit here at la casa. Here is my most recent creation:
I whipped these bad boys up with some fab Amy Butler fabric I picked up at The Fabric Tree in Danbury. No pattern, friends! (Well, truth be known, if I couldn't put together a couple of zippered pillow covers without a pattern by now I'd likely call it quits. Still... it sounds impressive.)
I have a pair of zippy little curtains finished up as well - alas, I picked up the wrong size curtain rod. Poop.
Heather's coming into town tomorrow! Hooray for sisterly weekends. They are just the bee's knees.

Apple Picking
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I mean.... umm.... *cough*.... So, guess what I got this weekend?

I am soooo in lust. Needless to say I've spent the last 3 days glued to the keyboard. I've imported 16 GB of music and 3700 photos so far. Yeeee-haw!
Before little MacNally arrived, SteveKam and I enjoyed a quiet Thanksgiving at Chez Snippy. I made some salmon, mashed taters, green beans, carmelized acorn squash and a spinach salad. And a so-so attempt at my first apple pie. We drank beer, we watched football, we ate too much. It was Heaven.
We finished up our long weekend with a loverly little bike ride up in Carmel, NY. It is looking like it was our last bike ride of the season - boo! Though, that does mean that SNOOOOOW is on its way and with it snowshoeing and cross country skiing! Hazah!
I'll spare you all the obligatory apology for the lack of posts. Let's just say that work has been nuts, but things are looking up. I'm hoping that I'll be back to the normal kind of crazy in a few weeks.

Belated Trick or Treat
Work has been OUT OF CONTROL. Like, working till 9pm out of control.
So far this weekend, I have slept, slept, slept - oh and gone grocery shopping. I decided this afternoon was the perfect opportunity to finally upload my Halloween pics and actually POST something on this poor blog.
So, here's a snippy little slideshow of this year's Halloween misadventures:
I've been spending the few work free hours I have had crafting my rear off and playing with Ravlery (btw - YES, it IS as amazing as everyone says! Check me out there if you're in already - I'm Scissorina. Umm... duh). I'll have some new home dec items to show off shortly - as well as a couple of sweaters that have been finished for a million years and just need to star in their individual photo shoots....
The good news is that in about 2 weeks, my workload *should* be a lot more reasonable and while I will still have to work late - it shouldn't be running till the wee hours anymore. If I live that long, it's something to look forward to. :)
